“You’ve got a voice to change the nations but you’re biting your tongue, Spent your lifetime stuck in silence afraid you’ll say something wrong, If no one ever hears it how we gonna learn your song?”
Born and Raised in Cameroon, Danielle Kamtié is a progressive professional in project management in the international development sector, a young leader and advocate for youth empowerment, youth inclusion in the SDGs and governance, making waves for youth inclusive global development. As a fierce champion for youth inclusion in creation of a sustainable world, she has a dedication on expanding access to youth engagement on clean water and sanitation for all, gender equality, education, amongst others. She believes that young people, independently of their backgrounds, are agents of change and innovation leaders, connecting local communities and ready to take the necessary risks for their communities in a rapidly changing world.
A world with REAL youth inclusion, is a world where young people are considered as leaders, and are given space to LEAD. I envision a world moved by young people, where barriers to their representation and inter-generational dialogues are broken and overcome. A world where they are given platforms, means, tools and opportunities to call for radical transformation for a better future. When they speak up and advocate, their voices and perspectives are not only heard and seen, but also implemented in measured and monitored policies and in practices. Real inclusion in the decision-making processes around the SDGs, especially in education, access to water and sanitation, gender equality, youth empowerment for those often left behind, that reflect youth’ diverse lived experiences.
Danielle believes in the power of collective action and intergenerational collaboration. By bridging the gap between youth innovation and established governance structures, we can accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals and create more resilient communities.
"Danielle's determination and commitment for youth engagement in the water sector is truly inspiring and very much needed. The work that she does, and her commitment to amplify African youth voices in the water sector, a perspective that we urgently need is admirative. She exudes a huge passion for the goals, and has a lot of expertise to share, and the collaborations are always fruitful and enriching."
"As a highly valued Board member for the Blue Water Schools Network, Danielle's passion for youth involvement in the SDGs is framed by her insightful global awareness and a strong drive for positive change. I first met her at the UN Water Conference in March 2023, where I was inspired by her compelling presentation on behalf of the World Youth Parliament for Water. I deeply appreciate her passion, dedication, and professionalism, which, at her relatively young age, are truly inspiring. Her optimism, work ethic, strong values, and ability to work with various stakeholders, along with her global perspective, bring fresh insight to any discussions around youth inclusion in the sustainable goals."

She also shows remarkable poise and gravitas as a young leader. Overall, I and all other senior professionals working at inter-governmental level in water and sanitation, have huge respect for Danielle."

"Danielle is a dynamic and transformative young enthusiast whose work spans both high-level global platforms and impactful local developments. As Vice President of the World Youth Parliament for Water and Co-founder of the African Youth Parliament for Water, she has played a key role in mobilizing African youth to drive transformative progress toward SDG6. Her visionary leadership and passion for sustainable development have been felt across scales, inspiring communities locally while influencing global dialogues. Over the four years of our collaboration, her remarkable contributions moved me to invite her as a contributor to the Intergenerational Dialogue Series, a project I led as a Kofi Annan Foundation Changemaker."
"We are very grateful for the collaboration with Danielle, as part of the Kofi Annan Changemakers Initiative. During her tenure as the focal point for the World Youth Parliament for Water, Danielle successfully nominated wonderful young leaders to join our programme and played a key role in ensuring youth working in the field of water and environmental governance can join our intergenerational dialogue."
